Can There Ever Be Too Many Flowers Blooming?
A special presentation with Barry Schwartz, Dorwin Cartwright Professor of Social Theory and Social Action at Swarthmore College and renowned author of Paradox of Choice: Why More is Less.

As Americans, we assume that more choice means better options and greater satisfaction. Whether we're buying a pair of jeans, ordering a cup of coffee, choosing our entertainment options, selecting a long-distance carrier, or setting up a 401(k), everyday decisions -- both big and small -- have become increasingly complex due to the overwhelming abundance of choice with which we are presented.

How does this phenomenon impact the cultural marketer? What does this mean for our cultural offerings and our message?

In this special presentation Barry Schwartz will take a candid look at the relationship between economics, psychology, and choice, delivering startling insights into modern life. Schwartz will be speaking about his soon to released chapter, Can There Ever Be Too Many Flowers Blooming, in the new book on cultural engagement by Bill Ivey, former chairman of the NEA and Steven Tepper, et al.
